Come on folks, where are are you all hiding? Lets keep these forums alive and don't let them fade away..
The rockin' scene is mostly underground, we're a tight knitt community so lets not ignore each other. I can remember way back in the late 70's early 80's. When you saw another Ted or Hepcat walking down the street we always acknowledged each other. Now it seems we step over to the other side of the street.
Prime example... I was in Sainsburys the other night and passed some guy that I hade scene at a few of the local gigs. I nodded and said "Hi".. He just looked at me as if I had 3 heads and scurried off!

What's gone wrong in todays world? We're all on the same boat, we love the same music, we support the sdame scene so lets not be picky and start ignoring each other..

Bring back the old days!

Regards
Mike

Hey guy
Well I am here now so I can also talk to nobody. I thought I would look around for places to visit, I have not been on the scene for years. Must be mid 90's although I still brows around and download the odd track or two.
I get the same as you with the acknowledgement thing but I just put it down to my age and not being known anymore.

Hi!
Introductions first! My name's Ken,

I live in SouthWales, UK and have been interested and listening to Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly for as long as I remember!

I thought I might try and see if we can get a few more cats onto this site, so if we pass the link onto everyone we know something must happen.
By the way, Ive had the same trouble as you with the fact that people dont seem to want to know each other when not at a gig or a specific club!

This is my first time on a Forum of sorts so I will appologise before hand if I speek out of turn about any perticular form of music that anyone is in to.

Ifeel so strong about Original Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly both.
I feel that the two styles are able to live side by side and there is no need to defer from the fact that they are both just one side of the same coin.

Rockabilly, Rock'n'Roll, BeeBop, JumpJive, Le roc, Swing all seem to be on the3 up, at dance studio's at the moment, encourging younger people to enjoy the kind of music and dancing that you dont need to get drugged up to get the most of.

At 48 years old Ive just started having my arms Tattood to make a pair of rockabilly themed sleeves. This most people are finding strange at my age, but I am proud of the fact that I am an avid follower of this style of music and would like to share it with others.

It is surprising how quickly my mates have veared over to listening to (My kind of music ) after spending time at my house or driving around in my ride!
